The Baldwin-Wallace College football program is one of the best in all of college football. It is a simple and plain fact that is both factual and result based. Virtually every season, B-W is a contender for both the prestigious Ohio Athletic Conference title and the NCAA Division III National Championship.

On the field, B-W has built a history of being arguably the best football program in the history of the OAC. In 114-year history of football at the College, the Yellow Jackets have compiled an all-time record of 520-295 with a .615 winning percentage. The 520 wins are the most of any current OAC member school.

The Yellow Jackets have had 40 winning seasons in the past 42 years, including a 38-year streak that began in 1967 and ended in 2005. B-W won the 1978 national championship and has advanced to the NCAA Division III Playoffs five times, most recently in 2003 when it advanced to the second round. The Jackets have captured 12 OAC titles, including three straight from 1982 through 1984.

Big Win for the Jackets

The Jackets got on track Saturday night against the Pioneers from Marietta College. Here's an excerpted story about our RB John McGraw who was named OAC player of the week:

BEREA, OHIO -- Two Baldwin-Wallace College fall sport student-athletes, junior football running back John McGraw (North Ridgeville) and junior men's golfer Matt Weiss (Mentor), have been named as Ohio Athletic Conference players-of-the-week for their efforts during the week of September 21-27.

McGraw, who earned the Dick Miller B-W Outstanding Player of the Game award, led the Yellow Jackets to a 34-13 victory against Marietta College last Saturday (Sept. 26) on Tressel Field at The George Finnie Stadium in Berea. He rushed for a career-high 151 yards in 21 attempts, including a 24-yard second quarter touchdown gallop. For the season, McGraw is B-W's leading runner with 221 yards in 37 attempts (6.0 yards per carry) with four TD. He also is the team's leading receiver with nine catches for 68 yards.

This Saturday, October 3, McGraw and the Yellow Jackets travel to Alliance to play Mount Union College at 7:00 p.m. Following that game, B-W will play back-to-back home games versus Otterbein College on Saturday, October 10 at 2:00 p.m. and then versus Muskingum College on Saturday, October 17 at 1:30 p.m.

Weiss earned his honor by placing in a tie for third individually at last week's OAC Invitational Tournament that B-W hosted at the Fox Meadows Country Club in Medina. In that event, Weiss carded rounds of 75 and 74 for a five-over-par total of 149 strokes on the 6,917-yard, par-72 layout. For the season, Weiss stands second on the team in stroke average at 76.50 for three fall tournaments and six total rounds.

Weiss and the Yellow Jackets end their fall season today as they are currently competing in the second round of the Mt. Union Tournament at the Alliance Country Club.

We had a great day running the football, over 500 yards of total offense. Solid effort on Defense as well. Now it's time to take on the Purple Raiders.
